Divorce & the Holidays

Facing the holiday season after a divorce can be particularly difficult. Newly single, it may be hard to decide what to do next. We have a couple helpful tips to help you through the holiday season if you are going through a
divorce or are recently divorced:
Create new traditions: When you and your spouse were still together, you likely had certain traditions. Now, you are on your own. Instead of dwelling on the past, create new traditions with your children. Spend time with friends and family. Make a new plan for your holidays and you may find that the season is as bright as ever.
Take care of YOU: Now that you are separated or
divorced, focus some of your energy on yourself. When you're shopping, buy yourself a small (or big!) present. Take a few minutes a day to relax, have a cup of coffee or tea and recharge. Do something just for yourself. Now more than ever, this can make a difference on your outlook during the busy and sometimes stressful holiday season.
